Sept. 19 is International Talk Like A Pirate Day, but EVERY DAY is Dress Like a Pirate Day!

From the world famous Renaissance Faire Merchant Sofi's Stitches, we offer their cotton twill Peasant Bodice. All colors reverse to a completely finished other side of black (if you take out their sewn-in label). They are fully boned, and have metal grommets for strength. It has been recommended by Sofi's to order a little smaller than your natural measurements for historically accurate fit, but be sure to look at the size chart page for waist sizes.  They do not stretch at all, the low measurement is what the bodice is completely closed.  Most bodices need to be custom made, and so for a commercial bodice to fit perfectly off the rack is a mighty feat.  This does the trick, but you may find you need a bit of custom alteration.  Consider yourself lucky.  Until these bodices came along, your captain had to spend 150.00 on custom bodices.  Now don't forget to measure with the thickness of your waistbands included.   If a Peasant Bodice may be hard to fit, try the Wench bodice, which laces on the sides as well, or, new for 2007 is the Lady Pirate with no stiff stays, and just laces up for an easy fit  Also try our leather studded Cincher, the choice of Pirate Queens.
