Well, Marie would have never had something so simple so may I suggest a glue gun, some trim and jewels, some sparkly fabric paint, and have fun decorating this black canvas shoe to fit your desires. Pre-Colonial style is perfect for wench wear if boots are too much and sandals are too little. Don't forget to spray with protectant for wet weather. Medium width sizes. 2 inch heel. Ties with ribbon.  These do tend to run about a size small, order accoringly to how you can adjust with thickness of sock or stocking.
