The Cutlass was a short slashing sword, ideal for the close- quarters battles aboard great sailing ships. It has developed a reputation as the pirate weapon of choice. This version by Denix has a full-rigged pirate ship engraved on the handguard with the Skull-and-Crossbones emblazoned on the scabbard throat (or plain polished brass). (The blades of Denix swords are not the cheap, made-in-China blades that are sent to you razor sharp, can cut through their scabbard (we carry those too), and be an injury danger. These are Spanish tempered Steel, made in Spain, and cast from a metal alloy that cannot be sharpened, making them safe for wielding without slicing injury. See our Baldric for attachment to your body with ease . We offer the less expensive Chinese version, but if you want a "stage safe" blade of Spanish Steel, then this is the one you want.
